As part of The Great Kitchen Extension of 2020, Alfie Moon was facing a huge problem… he had to leave Kent Road for a month to live with his grandparents. 

The move to The Drive – the equivalent of 800 miles to a cat – could have been a crisis for this home-loving feline.

Eloise was in a fluster as questions swirled round her head: ‘How will Alfie cope?’ ‘Will he fall out with Marcus and Lucy?’  ‘Will he use his tray at poop-time?’ ‘How will Mum react to me having cheese on everything?’ 

She needn’t have worried (apart from about the cheese!). Alfie took to his new surroundings like a professional. 

Within hours he was kicking up a stink (literally) in his tray, hissing at Lucy, finding a bed in every room and charming his hosts.  

And Alf felt so at home he was often spotted checking himself out in the bedroom mirror…
